Macro Photography

Art can be shown in many ways, it could be shown as portraits,photographs or even scultures.It usually expresses a story or it can show an event in somebody's life.Art doesnt have to look nice it can be unusual or even shock people but thats what makes art so unique.

  

Context        

On wednesday we went to many different galleries where we saw all different pieces of art. We saw many  photographs (pinned up on the wall). Each one had its own story ttacted to it.Also each photograph shows a different photgraphers personality and shows how creative they can be.


Technique


When I went to brighton to look through there gallerys I saw many unusual photgraphs. They all used different techniques to show imagination and to try and make there art "stand out" from other artists.

Fashion/ magazines ----  advertisement Photgraphy

Fashion is a general term for the style and custom prevalent at a given time,in its most common usage refers to clothing or costume. (Wikipedia)

Fashion is the newest market,  market which evryone who enjoys looking good will appreciate.Fashion is hat people ill relate to and may of the younger generation looks up to people who where the latest brands and look good.Fashion is a ver big thing and it does produce alot of money in the industry.

 

Magazine pictures have alot more freedom to do what they like as it doesnt have to please every target audience, just the target audience which it appeals to. Meaning it can use photgraphs( that show more) for example nudity phoographs.

Advertisement photography is seen by literally everyone.The whole world see's advertisement.Its everywhere!

As you can see from the advertisement photgraph above, the company didnt have as much freedom with this picture. It was very organised becasue the target audience is everyone.

Advertisement photgraphs are very different.They have to apeal to everyone as you can not show kids nudist pictures etc. Also they dont have as much freedom to do what they like as they are used tosell clothing or costoms.This means that the person being photgraphed is told what to where, how to stand and pose. 

Context 

We see these fashin images in many place.For example billboards,books,magazines and  posters . Its very hard not to be persuaded by these advertisements to buy their products.This is because when you walk to work, you ill se billbords on bus stations.If you drove somewhere you would see them on billboards on the side road.You would see them in books and magazines.

Portraiture is the creation of a singe portrait where there is one person in the portrait at one time. It is an representation of  person. these portrsits usally tell a story bout the person and how they feel.


 
Portrait taken by Diane Arbus.Diane Arbus was a unique American photographer who took a vast amount of different portraits.She never took a "normal portrait", she always took pictures of dwarfs,transvestites,nudist and circus performers.In the end she ended up taking her own life.




Portrait taken by Walker Evans. Walker Evans was a very smart, and he took many unique portraits of the Great Depression. Many included portraits of poor familys.Most of his work today is pictured up in many popular museums.He too was American.

Portrait taken Richard Avendon.Richard was a American photograper. He defined the style and beauty of photography.





Portrait taken by Tony Vaccaro.Vaccaro was best known for taking European photos.Mainly in Germany after World War 2.Then after he finished taking many photo's of the War, where his portraits were very popular he starting taking photos for "fashion" in the U.S for magazines.

Context

We find portraits in many places these days. They have grown in popularity.It is now common to see portraits in houses to make them look brighter and they usally show there personallity.
You would also find portraits in gallerys, people visit these not only to enjoy the "fine art" but also to get an idea of what they would like in there home or what they would wish to paint theirselves.

Application

There were many historic events that moved this style forward.One of these historic dates was 1925.This date was where a new camera was invented.The camera was called 'The Leica'.It is a compact quiet camera unlike the others made before this date.

Another one of these historic events was 1933 when Henri Cartier-Bresson took a brilliant photograph(the photo of the centuary).

 













Henri Cartier-Bresson was one of the most famous photographers around the 1939's and with his new camera " Leica"(Below). With his new camera he took many "in the moment" shots. You was known by many as a stalker/pouncer as he catches the moment and waits for things to happen.His most historic picture was in 1933 when he took the picture of a man jumping over a puddle.

Techniques

 
I believe photgraphy begun in 1925. This was when a new camera was introduced. It's name was the "Leica". This camera was the beginning of an new era.The camera was compact and quiet and all proffessional photgraphers wanted one.

One of his most famous photographs was Moon and Half Dome, Yosemite National Park, California.











 Henri Cartier Bresson - (August 22, 1908 – August 3, 2004) was a French photographer.
